Questa specie fu scoperta nelle Filippine (Mindanao) nel 1906, ma è originaria anche di vaste zone di India e Australia. Quando fu scoperta fu considerata tra le più piccole Hoya esistenti.
LE foglie sono piccole, carnose, coperte da leggera peluria e col tempo arriva a formare dei densi cuscini di vegetazione. I fiori sono rosa rosso con centro giallo ed hanno un dolce profumo che ricorda quello del miele. Fiorisce durante i periodo estivo.
Ama posizioni luminose, caldo umide. Terriccio ben drenato arricchito di sabbia. Può crescere anche in vasi di muschio nel qual caso andrà bagnata più frequentemente.
