Originaria delle Filippine, fu scoperta nel 1909.
Le sue foglie carnose e dall’aspetto vellutato la rendono una pianta molto ornamentale. Le infiorescenze sono piatte, composte da piccoli fiori rosa rosso, con corona centrale rossa. Il profumo è dolce e intenso di miele.
La pianta cresce raccolta formando graziosi vasi pendenti e ordinati.
