La Begonia ferox è una specie rizomatosa originaria del Guanxi, in Cina.
Ha un aspetto ‘feroce’ dovuto alle particolarissime foglie che presentano delle ‘bolle’ , delle guglie scure coronate da peluria soffice. E’ indubbiamente una tra le begonie di aspetto più particolare che esistano e siamo felici di poterla finalmente presentare ai nostri collezionisti più esperti e curiosi.
Ama l’umidità ambientale, che non dovrebbe scendere sotto il 70, 75%.
Il terriccio deve essere leggero, ben drenante. La luminosità intensa ma indiretta.
La pianta è in vaso del 14 ed è già ricca e folta.
