Zingiberacea. Nonostante il suo aspetto decisamente esotico è una pianta rustica fino a -18°C. Dal rizoma si innalzano alti steli (fino a 150-200cm), alla cui sommità si formano lunghe spighe di fiori arancio, profumatissimi.
Disponibile in vivaio in vaso 30cm; per spedizione solo in periodo di riposo, il rizoma.
